Inspired by surrealist artists like Salvador Dali and Luis Brunel, my creative partners and I developed a surrealist garden, complete with raw soil and living plants. For this piece I composed a sound-scape that over time turned the exterior sounds like a frog ribbit into the interior sound of a heartbeat- all aimed to turn this performance on the viewer. The piece was a large installation of a room made of white sheet paper and a dreamy passage way made of sheets and fairy lights. All this was to be destroyed at the end of the performance when all is abruptly ripped down around the audience, waking them from this dream.
